  KABINI RIVER LODGE
       
A popular destination in Nagarhole is the Kabini River Lodge, located on the Southern fringes of the Park. This lodge is considered one of the top wildlife resorts in the world and has a number of international celebrities among its customer list. Formerly the hunting lodge of the Maharajah of Mysore, this spacious resort sits in a picture post card location on the banks of the river Kabini.
     
The lodge is run by Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd, the company well-known for eco-tourism. It has a variety of accomodation, including rooms in the original hunting lodge, six new cottages on the river bank, and tents overlooking the river.
       
Guests are taken on safari rides into the forest twice a day, in comfortable jeeps accompanied by expert guides. Boat rides in the river can also be taken, to view animals from the water. Naturalists are also at hand to answer queries.
     
The resort offers good, tasty cuisine to suit different palates. Room service is also available.

Rates are Rs 2300 per person per night for Indians (Rs 2070 from second night) and USD 110 per day (USD 100 from second night) for foreigners. The rates are on twin sharing basis and inclusive of boarding, lodging, jungle safaris and forest entry charges. Advance reservation is essential before you reach the resort, and is made against full payment.
       
  JUNGLE INN
       
Jungle Inn is located in the Northern fringe of the Park, close to the main entrance to the Park, on the Hunsur-Nagarhole road (19 kms from Hunsur).
 
 
 
 
The resort offers double rooms in its colonial styled lodge as well as dormitary accomodation. Rates are Rs 1800 (Rs 1200 in dormitory) per person per night for Indians and USD 75 for foreigners. These are inclusive of all meals, wildlife safaris and forest entry fees.
 
 
 
 

A choice of Indian and Western cuisine is available. Jeeps owned by the resort take guests for forest rides. Camping and trekking activities are also arranged on request.

  FOREST DEPARTMENT ACCOMODATION
       
The forest department has bungalows (Rs 750 per double) as well as dormitories (Rs 20 per bed), located very close to the sanctuary. While offering basic facilities, the bungalows are said to be good value for money.
