The nerve centre of Mudmalai is Theppakadu. The reception centre
of the Forest department is located on the main road and easily
identifiable. Tourists can seek information here about the sanctuary,
accomodation, safari trips, etc. Tickets for the safaris into the
national park are also to be booked here. The reception centre operates
daily from 6.30 am to 6.00 pm (tel : +91-423-2526235). |

Masinagudi
village, which is about 7 kms from Theppakadu has reasonably good
shopping facilities, offering food items, medicines, batteries,
films, foot wear, basic textiles, etc. Masinagudi also has basic
medical facilities, including doctors. For more advanced medical
treatment, one will have to travel to Ooty or Gudalur. Your hotel
or resort should be able to organise medical attention through local
doctors, if the need arises. |
